I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.  That did not sway my opinion in the least.

Shannan’s Summary

Basically a where’s waldo style book, only you’re looking for Jesus in a variety of locations.

First Off…

When I saw this for review, I wondered which avenue they were taking with it.  It could either be mocking or a lighthearted tongue in check.  I was hoping for the later so I thought I’d give it a go.

Thoughts:

As soon as I got this in the mail, I opened it and started looking for Jesus (sounds weird to say) and since I was at work (I’m a minister p.s.) I got some of my coworkers involved in looking for Jesus with me.  A couple of them were a little easier.  We gave up on the street party, and I still can’t find Jesus in the Rave.  The only thing I wish the book had were more things to look for other than Jesus like the Waldo books have in the back of the book.  There is definitely plenty to look for, some miracle inspired moments are throughout the book, as well as some off the wall characters.

Overall

I thought it was a book you can have fun with.  If anyone is wondering, no I don’t know what the author’s religious background is, but I didn’t feel like he was out make a statement, just a fun book.  I’ll be taking this to family Christmas with me.  I’m sure will have some fun.

10 Second Summery:

  1. It’s a lighthearted, tongue in check book:  Not meant to be taken too seriously, just meant to have fun.
  2. Jesus is not easy to find: Some of the pages I still haven’t found Jesus yet.
  3. Fun for All Ages:  It’s something you can sit down with friends or your kids and try to find Jesus.

Check the Shelf2

I think adults and kids will like “finding Jesus” in this book.  It’s only in Hardback right now, but I think it’s worth picking up for the right crowd.
