Stacking the Shelves: December

Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the shelves is hosted over at Tanga’s Reviews

So I had a pretty big book hull this month and wanted to share:

So I did The Broke and The Bookish Secret Santa exchange this year and a bookish Potterhead and Whovian named Anna got me (check out her twitter and website, she’s pretty cool.)  She did a fantastic job as you can see below.

Not only did I get some awesome extras (the wand pen and TARDIS Journal being two favs) but she also got me The Raven Boys, Shadow and Bone, and Atlantia. I’ve moved The Raven Boys onto my nightstand and even though I’m only a chapter in, I already love the writing style, so I have good vibes on that one.

Here’s the book hull from Christmas.  I got the Giver series (The Giver, Gathering Blue, The Messenger, The Son), The Program and Snow like Ashes from my Mamaw.  Then my Cousin Philip got me On Writing by Steven King and Forbidden.  All of them have been high on my TBR list, so I was stoked!  Started Snow Like Ashes today and I’m loving it.

Then there is my Library hull.  Not sure why I decided to get books from the library, because I literally have three TBR shelves at home, but I did.  In part I wanted to check out our amazing downtown Library in Cincinnati, partially I wanted some easy reads.  I scored big time on the top one, “The Great Good Thing.” It was a fantastic easy read! I’ll be doing a formal review soon, but I’m looking for a hardback copy to own.  Not sure if I’ll make it to any of the other books, so they’ll just stay on my TBR shelf.

Finally this isn’t a book, but it’s as good as one.  My sister made this for me for Christmas.  It’s an amazingly huge tote with two big pockets on the front.  It’s big enough to carry any books I’m currently reading/reviewing, plus all my blogging supplies.  As you can see, she used my “Check the Shelve” graphic and then wrote a bunch of first lines from books I love around the top.  I have a major obsession with totes and this has become one of my favorites.

So what were you favorite bookish snags this month?  Did you get all the books you wanted for Christmas?
