What I Remember Book Review: Ender’s Game

What I remember Wednesday

So I really liked this book. I don’t read many adult books period, but this one was available as an audiobook and I needed a new one, and the movie was coming out, so I decided to listen before the movie.

I didn’t expect to love the book as much as I did. I just thought Ender’s story and his training process was so interesting. Not just the how’s but also the why’s as well. I also loved the politics that his brother and sister were involved in while he was in space. The reader for the audiobook also did such a good job with the character voices, you couldn’t help but be drawn in.

If you’ve seen the movie, it would still be well worth it read the book. Not only is it better, like I said in my Verses post, but the story is much, much bigger than the movie tried to tackle. I think the complication is that the characters are young adults, but the themes are more adult. Which is why they had to cut so much of the story down to market it to the YA crowd.

I have the next book on my virtual TBR shelf, but I think I want to continue it as an audiobook, so it may be read sooner since that list is much shorter.
