2015 Challenge Review

So how am I doing on Challenges?  Not bad, not great (check the details here.)  I’ve been keeping on track so far, but I’ve hit a little bit of a wall this month.  I’ve been crazy stressed over some events I’m planning and just the general coming months and on top of that I finished Bitterblue and went straight into Grave Mercy.  Love both of them, but with both of them being super thick books, it’s really slowed my drive to read.  So the past month I haven’t made much of a dent in any lists, let alone my challenges.  I finally put down Grave Mercy to read The Selection Stories, which with as quick of a read as those two stories are, really helped me feel like I knocked something off my list.

I’ve started picking through Grave Mercy again, and I’m also reading/listening to a couple other books, which always helps me keep from feeling like I’m not accomplishing anything.  After I finish this book though, I may read some of my middle grade books for a little quicker pace of book.  Another option might be working on the Series Ender Challenge.  I have 3 or 4 series that I have one or two books left in and just haven’t gotten around to finishing them for some reason.  Hopefully when I get around to finishing the series, I remember what happened in the first books.  I might need to look up some reviews of the first books to remember.

One thing I have noticed I’m struggling with is my Author challenge.  Apparently I only read authors that have one of 6 letters for a last name.  I’ve read three times as many books as I’ve claimed on this one because I keep repeating letters.  This may be a challenge I have to be more intentional about.

Still not positive how many challenges I’ll finish.  I’m hoping to finish at least half of them and hopefully once May is over I’ll get more reading done.

So what about you?  How are you doing on your challenges?  What do you do to get past a reading slump?
