Books

Five on Friday: Never Read Books

I buy a lot of books, more than I can keep up with reading.  These are books I’ve had sitting on my selves for a long time, but for some reason have just never read.

Rachel's Tears: The Spiritual Journey of Columbine Martyr Rachel Scott

Rachel’s Tears:  I got this for Christmas the year it came out, which was (###).  I remember flipping through it and being excited to read it, but for some reason I never started reading.  Eventually it got so far to the end of my TBR  list that it fell off it.  I pull it out every now and then thinking I’ll read it, but it has yet to happen.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)

Girl with the dragon tattoo:  I bought this when I read they were going to make it into a moviee. I always try to read the books first.  A short time later I was at redbox and saw girl with the dragon tattoo and thought it was the movie and I had just missed it.  What it actually was, was the swedish version of the moive and they have much different standards for what was acceptable. It scared me a bit and I haven’t been able to bring myelf to read the book.

You Wish (The Misadventures of Benjamin Bartholomew Piff, #1)

Misadventures of Benjamin Barthelemew Piff: I don’t remember when I gt this, but I was still living at home, so over 7 years ago. I got it at a half price books because it was an intrigugin story summery with a cover to match.  Just not enough to get me read it apparently.

The Dark Hills Divide (The Land of Elyon, #1)

The Dark Hills Divide:  Another intriguing story with matching cover that has just never made it to the top of the pile.

The Rule of Four

Rule of four:  This was thrift story rescue.  I usually buy paintings or books when I travel and while visiting a friend in Iowa we visited a local thrift store.  This one called to me, but unfortunately it’s still as neglected as it was in he store.

So what do you think?  Are any of these “read now” books?  What are some books you bought and never read?

A books blog! Love it! Great idea, kiddo!
I have been working through several that were on my list as well. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius (the Hays translation) has turned out to be wonderful! It is overflowing with great wisdom and advice for leadership and life. It has spurred me to read through Proverbs again as well, which is always very enriching. I look forward to some reviews and literary criticism from you. Cheers!

    1. Thanks. I thought this would be a good distraction from spending all my time on work 😉 I add Meditations to my list. I’m always looking good thinking books.
