Let’s Talk: 2015 Challenges

Let's Talk

So I finished one of my challenges already!  It was my audiobook challenge.  This year I’ve  fallen into the world of audiobooks, which made it much easier to finish that challenge than I thought it would be.

As for all my other challenges, wellllllll…..

So I’m giving up on The debut Author challenge.  I haven’t read any debut Authors this year, and really, if I had thought about it, that challenge didn’t fit with my personal goal for the year.  One of which was to get some of the books I’ve bought off my TBR Shelf.

I only have a couple more books for my fantasy reading challenge, so I feel good about finishing that one. Especially since I’m in the middle of Grave Mercy.  Not to mention most of my TBR challenge books are fantasy.  So I should be good on this one.

On my alphabet reading challenge by book titles, I’m doing pretty good.  I have about half the alphabet covered, so I’ll need to start getting intentional with what I read for that challenge.

Alphabet by author is a little more difficult.  I apparently lean toward authors with certain letter names, because all the time I go to put a book in and the letter is taken.  I wonder if there is a psychology to picking authors with certain letters.

I don’t know if I’ll finish the series ender challenge.  I have three more to finish and my struggle is I don’t remember the beginning of any of the series I need to finish.  I’m waiting for the Seeing Red audiobook from the library.  Then I’ll be able to finally read Arch Enemy and finish the Looking Glass Wars.  Then there is the alchemist series that is a little slow go as I try to remember what’s happening.  And then I have the last two books in the Giver quartet.    So we’ll see if I can make it.

The TBR series I thought would be one of the easier ones to finish, and it hasn’t been.  Granted, it’s because I picked some of the bigger books on my shelf to read. So it’s been slowing me down a bit.

As far as my other challenges, I think I’m doing well.  It’s fun to think about the different categories a book fits into other than a genre.

The only other challenge I’m working on is the Bookish resolution.  I’m currently moving, and as I pack, scanning all my books into my home library app.  So organization is close at hand.   I’m also a little behind on my 60 books for the year, but after I get through some of my bigger books, I’m going to knock out some of the smaller books that have been sitting there.

So, over all, I feel like I’m doing pretty good.  How about you?  Any challenge’s your rockin’ or maybe you’ve realized there’s no hope for?
